Summer 2023
Committee Participation
is mandatory
Journey Theater Volunteer Participation
Volunteer involvement is a unique part of our theater arts program. Without the support of parents, friends and family, Journey could not produce high-quality, community-pleasing shows. An adult friend or family member of cast members are required to serve on a Production Committee and attend the First and Second Committee Meetings, which are held during rehearsals.
Production Committee Assignments
Journey is a family oriented organization. Friends or family of each cast member in the production will serve on one or two of several committees. These committees are called “Production Committees” and include costumes, refreshments, publicity and many more! Each committee supports an aspect of the show. Volunteers should expect to work up to 50 hours on committee assignments.
Mandatory Meetings
At our First Committee Meeting, volunteers are given information on show-related things. Volunteers meet with their committees at this time to get their assignments. This meeting will be held at Summit View Church on Friday, June 9 at 6:30pm.
Our Second Committee Meeting focuses on all the information you need to know for our time at the theater. Volunteers also meet with their committees. This meeting will be held at Summit View Church on Friday, July 21 at 6:30pm.
Meeting Conflicts
If you know in advance that you cannot attend a committee meeting, you may send another adult in your place who meets these criteria:
- They are not already required to attend the meeting (as a volunteer of another cast member in the show)
- They can sit in your committee meeting, gather your assignments and communicate them to you.
You must email the Show Coordinator, in advance, to let her know you will not be at the meeting and who will be taking your place. Please also let the Show Coordinator if you have an emergency and will not be able to attend.
